I have a portable hard drive, and I am able to connect a DVD player with DivX playback in touch and put the drive via the USB port and play movies on my hard drive in AVI format on the DVD player ?

I currently have a Panasonic DVD player DVP5960 has an USB port. I have movies on a flash drive and play, and this in AVI format.
